PHOTOGRAPHY
Objective:
To train the students in photographic skills
Unit I
Introduction
to photography, dynamics of light, image formation, types of cameras : compact
vs. digital SLR camera, parts of a digital camera.
Unit II
Camera
controls: shutter, aperture, light meter, depth of field control, how shutter
and aperture work together, f numbers, ISO numbers, Light in photography,
indoor and outdoor photography, creating effects with the use of light,
Unit III
Photography
ideas, Photo composition, rule of thirds, balance, tonal balance, content
balance, weighing squares, composing portraits, composing landscapes, point of
view, simplicity, use of tripod.
Unit IV:
Types of Lenses, influence of lens aperture or f-number, Macro Lenses:
Magnification, Depth of Field and
Effective F-Stop.
Unit V:
Camera Lens Filters, Camera Lens Filter: Polarizers, Graduated Neutral Density
(GND) Filters, Neutral Density (ND)
Filters, Qualities of Digital Photos, Bit Depth, Sharpness, Image Noise,
Dynamic Range.
